We are so excited to introduce this vibrant and expressive coffee from Jorge Elías Rojas Vásquez & Angélica Rojas at La Gloria in Tolima, Colombia. Grown at 1857 metres above sea level and honey-processed with great care, this Typica showcases bright citrus and floral notes, grounded by a rich, brown sugar sweetness.

La Gloria is one of several farms owned by Jorge, a producer who lives and breathes coffee. Jorge’s story begins in Planadas, Tolima, where he took over the family farm at just 12 years old. After years of dedication and self-taught experience, he acquired La Roca Estate in 2010 and began building something bigger - an ambitious vision for quality-driven, sustainable Colombian coffee.

His sister, Angélica Rojas, now plays a key role in day-to-day work at La Gloria, and it was she who picked this very lot. The cherries were processed at La Roca’s central mill, where Jorge oversees every detail - from harvest timing to drying curves. He’s continuously learning and refining, with international recognition to prove it: in 2023, he won Best Honey-Processed Arabica at the World Coffee Challenge in Madrid.

Jorge’s approach to processing is careful and deliberate. For this lot, the cherries were harvested at peak ripeness and fermented in cherry for 24 hours. After pulping, they underwent an extended 60-hour fermentation before a controlled drying and resting phase that brings out the coffee’s sweetness and structure.

But his impact goes far beyond his own farms. Through the ASOPEP association, he supports other producers in the region, sharing knowledge, resources, and access to high-end markets. His work with state-of-the-art infrastructure and traceable practices has made his coffee a benchmark for excellence in Tolima.

This is a coffee full of character - bright yet structured, floral but with a satisfying depth. And behind it, a producer who has dedicated his life to pushing Colombian coffee forward.
