MODEST MATCHA
Modest Matcha is our Organic Premium Grade matcha, carefully grown on Kyushu Island in southern Japan, in the lush Kagoshima Prefecture. It’s crafted from a blend of three cultivars – Okumidori, Saemidori, and Yutakamidori – all chosen for their smooth, umami-rich flavour and elegant, balanced character.
Produced using the same traditional methods as ceremonial matcha, including slow stone-milling, it carries a depth and quality that sits beautifully between ceremonial and culinary grades. That makes Modest Matcha perfect both on its own or as a refined matcha latte.
The woman on the label is imagined – but we wish she were real. She embodies the calm, devotion, and deep respect for matcha that inspires us every day.

Modest Matcha has lived her entire life on the slope of Aso, Japan’s most active volcano. As the roars of the volcano intimidated the village, she sat perfectly still and found peace in her matcha ceremonies. Today, at the age of 27, she is already the most respected ceremony leader in the group of elderly. Everyone crave her perfectly prepared matcha tea, presenting clear umami notes and a full bodied experience.
Dear Tea Society
We love all colours of tea and infusions. We love sharing a pot but are often caught drinking on our own. We need tea to think, to dream, to forgive and forget. In short: We love tea, it’s who we are.
Dear Tea Society is our tea brand, where we stylishly and playfully highlight our love for tea. The full range consists of high-quality teas in all their forms and flavours. Some selected favourites from the range are offered in the 80 g boxes available here.
